Would a tankless "on demand" hot water heater make sense for a family of four in a 3-story house?

Our considerations are 1) always having hot water available (duh), 2) energy efficiency and 3) cost. What do you think?

Depending on what you want you can find these here. They are expensive to buy but I can tel you that through experience they do work and can save you money for the traditional hot water heaters that people use every day.
I installed the wiring for my neighbor for one of these 7 years ago they had 3 kids at home and they never ran out of hot water and they were saving thirty to forty bucks a month in energy on their power bill as well. They come with excellent warranties but like I said they are over a thousand bucks but hey a standard water heater anymore is about 400 – 500 installed. They love it and it is still going strong for them.
yes it would be a great ideal but why do you need a heater if your water is hot . it is a water heater
The heaters and installation are expensive.I’d get a commercial grade to get a higher flow rate.Residential ones are ok if only one person is using hot water but not enough flow for two in my opinion.Keep in mind they have alot of expensive parts should they need repair but are economical to operate.
I was at Lowes the other day and saw a very small circulating pump for HW tanks the instulation looks fairly easy and needs 110 volts..My bath is distant from HW tank haven’t installed yet, but think this is a great solution also has built in timer so so doesn’t run @ nite
Hot water on demand initially have higher up start cost but will pay dividends within a few years. You may want to consider dedicating one tank less to the master bathroom or to meet the other demands of your family, using as series method of installation. Link @ Homelinepros.com.
