Any electric water will use some version of a heating coil as found in a standard electric water heater. This is how electric heaters work. The heating element is switched on an off by the water flow through the heater. The heater puts out enough heat to make the water hot as it flows through the heating coil area. The link below leads to a good article about tankless electric water heaters.
