Tankless hot water heaters – Pro or con. I'll need to replace my regular heater soon.?

I have the standard electric hot water heater which is pushing 13 years old. I'm noticing that it is not supplying enough hot water when showering, etc. Thinking of going tankless to save electricity and water, but I need to know how well they work. Any comments, suggestions, etc. will be greatly apprececiated.

They work great. Unfortunately they are a lot more expensive than a regular water heater. They will eventually pay for themselves.
check prices here. There are other sites. I am a Realtor and I have seen these in homes. people seem to rave about them.
I would definitely go tankless – if you can afford the initial cost.
My HWH works on gas, and I’m saving up for a tankless gas HWH.
The pros: practically unlimited supply of hot water as needed and no cost keeping hot water hot when not used
The con: higher initial cost for purchase
Get one!! They’re great. It’s a small unit and doesn’t hold hot water, and keep it hot. When you turn the hot water on, it gives you instant hot water. You won’t spend any more money keeping the water hot when you’re not home, or while sleeping. It’s a very nice unit. I’m sure in the near future, every house will have one.
Have looked into a tank less system since my sister got into it. They’re expensive. The one equal to mine is $1200.00 a tank is $250..00 makes you think, don’t it? on the payment plan, the warrant would be out and it would be ready to go, the guy said so. Why get it. The saving wouldn’t be worth it. That’s the Con the Pro I could put it on the Wall…Wow! like my brother-in-law and look at it and brag wow! and tell everyone that I paid $1200.00 and another $1200.00 for labor. Wow! No way.
i would suggest to get a tank less water heater, they are very expensive right now but in a few months it will pay for it self (that is how much money you will be saving!) In some states they also offer a tax credit. Cons are that you have to have certain type of lines for it, and i would suggest somebody else to install it that may be extra money.
We have had tankless water heaters on our shower heads for a number of years. They work very well. The only problem is that they require a heavy electrical circuit installed. A central unit would be cheaper to install as you already have an existing electrical service on your existing unit. You will no doubt be saving electricity going to a on-demand unit. Hope this doesn’t confuse the issue.

Tankles hot water heaters are great that’s just about all they use in Germany. You will save alot of money on Hydro as hot water tanks cost to keep the burner on to keep the water hot, tankless hot water heaters are great because you only heat the water you use at the time. Smart buy. Good for the environment, your pocket book, most people don’t think enough about changing their systems to something new and better for the earth. Good for you.
For an electric water heater replacement, they do work well. For gas water heater replacement, you have to replace the vent pipe and get a larger size, which costs to make bigger holes in your ceiling and through the roof.
Instead of buying a new hot water heater of either kind i would consider changing the heating elements in the tank you have first. We change the elements about every 7 years and our electric hot water heater is over 20 years old with no other problems.
