i did a lot of reaserch on these and they come with alot of pros and cons. The main con being that they are a lot more expensive to buy and you really have to buy a really good one and i dont mean from home depot. One of the problems some of the less expensive ones have is they do not provide even heat when you have the water turned on low. and if you are turning the facet on and off alot you will get water that is either scalding or warm. It will flucuate alot.
and if you want to use it for your whole house you are going to need one that has alot of balls. Because when you have more than one thing open like kit sink or shower the temp will not be even or hot enough. Go to google search and type in tankeless water heaters and do some reaserch on them before you get stuck with something you dont like. A lot of people dont have many great things to say about them.
they rock
I have heard that they are good, but expensive to run
I am using one in lieu of boiling water for coffee and tea. It is quick and convenient but I doubt it saves any money.
They are quite common in Europe.
It seems to me they must save money because you don’t have to pay the cost of keeping 20 or 30 gallons of water heated up, even though, of course, it is in an insulated container. Depending on your situation (that is, how far your kitchen bathroom are from where the water heater would be), you may not even get more of a delay before hot water is available at the tap. Of course, you have to arrange to have sufficient electricity or gas available at the point of use.
i had one got rid of it cost me a bundle to get it and get rid of it.
