They work great and you can save money on your electric bill. You may need more than one inline water heater though. A tankless water heater goes by other names including an inline water heater. Although they are considered instant water heaters there is a delay when they start up so hot water isn’t immediate. A gas inline water heater takes special installation in conjunction with your local gas company. So it depends on how many you need. A large household may need more than one. Many people also have a shower inline water heater in addition to their main tankless water heater.
They are great. As a matter of fact once you use or install one you will forever wonder why there are still tank water heaters! A typical residential inline water heater may have a hot water delivery rate as high as 100 gallons per minute at a constant temp. What makes them so efficient is heating energy is only consumed when there is demand or flow. Also tank water heaters have the problem of cold water being added as hot water is drawn out, hence a 50 gal tank water heater will usually go cold after 35 – 40 gals used. Electric or gas will be far more efficient. The amount of hot water is only limited by the flow rate of your water supply and can continuosly deliver it indefinitely. The drawback is a high initial cost,$1000+. But you will find it worth every dime.
